iPad Pro 2024 is thinner than the Air model but is it durable?

Apple launched the iPad Pro 2024 this month which is claimed to be thinner and lighter than the iPad Air 2024 model. But is it still durable?

Apple recently introduced the all-new iPad Pro. The latest addition to the iPad lineup is powered by an M4 chip, which is supposedly the company’s fastest chip so far. It is also considered Apple’s most premium and capable tablet yet. After the tablet was launched, there was a lot of buzz around the product regarding its durability due to its ultra-thin design.

As a result, many tech reviewers on the internet have conducted a durability test on the device. The results have impressed the tech enthusiasts, and the new iPad Pro has received a positive response from the reviewers.

Recently, initial bend tests for the 13-inch M4 iPad Pro were conducted by various renowned tech reviewers, including JerryRigEverything and AppleTrack. The initial results have indicated that Apple’s thinnest device is said to be just as durable as its predecessor, the M2 iPad Pro. These tech reviewers have found that the new iPad Pro is highly resistant to accidental bending. They also concluded that Apple’s new device has the ability to withstand a lot of force and remains resistant to bending under typical usage.

While the assessments of the M4 iPad Pro were going on, it was observed by the reviewers that the tablet was perfectly working when bent horizontally and showcased exceptional structural integrity. However, when the device was bent vertically, it saw a significant split originating from the USB-C port.

With this, JerryRigEverything suggested that the tech giants could add a perpendicular spine near the charging port, which will ultimately increase the durability of the device. Despite the vertical split of the M4 iPad Pro, the reviewers declared that it was sufficient for horizontal bends, making it perfect for daily usage in bags and pockets.

In a different durability test conducted by MobileReviewsEh, they placed around 70 pounds of weight on the display of the M4 iPad Pro until failure and found out that it was structurally quite strong. Overall, all the reviewers and tech enthusiasts have praised the new iPad Pro and have lauded Apple’s efforts to create a tough device despite its thin structure.
