Google is adding a new Fitbit to its lineup and the latest model focuses on kids with toned-down feature and lightweight design.

Google is diversifying its smartwatch lineup with the launch of the Fitbit Ace LTE. The new wearable has been designed for kids aged seven or more. In addition to the standard fitness monitoring features, the new device offers features like calling, messaging and sharing locations with parents.

Fitbit Ace LTE Features

The Ace LTE gets a 3-Color OLED display with a protective bumper case and Corning Gorilla Glass layer. It is water-resistant up to 50m and has a 328mAh battery that can last over 16 hours and can get fully charged in 70 minutes and it weighs only 28.03 grams.

The Fitbit Ace LTE also comes with pre-installed interactive 3D games for the kids on their wrist. As per Google, kids will get more game time on their devices the more they move. Every game is specially designed for the device using haptics, sound and an accelerometer to deliver fun and engaging gameplay to the kids, with updates promised every few months.

The device also uses a movement algorithm, developed by the researchers of Google, which can help in tracking the kid’s physical activities more accurately. It recognises all types of physical activities like running, dancing, jumping etc. All of these are visible in a new activity ring called Noodles on the home screen itself.

The Fitbit Ace LTE also comes with Eejies – a customizable creature that grows with daily activities and includes six collectible bands that unlock multiple rewards upon attachment. With the built-in LTE connectivity, the device can easily be connected with the Fitbit Ace Companion App on any iOS or Android device.

The smartwatch is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 processor. It runs on WearOS and has 2GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage. However, it doesn’t support the Google Play Store or any third-party apps. You also have the basic features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS/GNSS supported on the watch.

Fitbit Ace LTE Price and Colors

The Fitbit Ace LTE comes in two colors, Spicy and Mild. It costs USD 229.95 (Rs 19,175 approx). It will be available through Amazon and the Google Store from June 5 in select markets.
