Google Pixel 9 with Tensor G4 Allegedly Spotted In Benchmarks. This Is How Much It Scored

Google Pixel 9 series is expected to launch in the fall of 2024.

What appears to be the alleged Pixel 9 has been spotted in the Geekbench 5 benchmark database. Read on to find out how much it scored.

A new Google smartphone, codenamed ‘Tokay,’ has been identified in the Geekbench 5 benchmark database, according to a recent report by MySmartPrice.

This device, purportedly the upcoming Pixel 9, features a new chipset, potentially the Tensor G4, Google’s fourth-generation chipset. It reportedly achieved a score of 1082 points in the single-score benchmark and 3121 points in the multi-core score. However, the report notes that these scores are slightly lower than those of the current flagships, the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, which is quite surprising.

The benchmark data also provides additional insights, revealing that the chipset is an octa-core processor. The prime core operates at 3.10 GHz, three cores run at 2.60 GHz, and four cores function at 1.95 GHz. Additionally, the device is equipped with a Mali G715 GPU and 8GB of RAM.

Without concrete details, it remains challenging to predict the ultimate performance of the upcoming Tensor G4. More information is expected to surface in the coming months. Traditionally, Google unveils initial details about its upcoming Pixel phones at the Google I/O event. However, whether this will occur this year remains uncertain.

In related news, Google is also said to be working on the Pixel 8a and the next generation Pixel Fold. Pixel Fold is also said to feature the Tensor G4 chipset, and could skip the Tensor G3 chipset altogether when it launches later this year. The new foldable could feature a narrower cover display compared to the current Pixel Fold, and the overall inner display’s aspect ratio may resemble a square, reminiscent of the OnePlus Open.
