We can all appreciate the miracles of life. A newborn child or animal is truly a gift! However, for many, struggles begin early on. It isn’t fair or just, yet we witness such tragedies often. A sweet newborn puppy didn’t stand a chance when she was abandoned by the side of the road. She was either discarded or orphaned by her stray mom. Thankfully, a little girl changed the tiny puppy’s fate! She was outside playing when she caught a glimpse of the little white puppy. She ran inside to tell her mom.
Mom and daughter carried the newborn puppy inside, determined to help her. The baby was so young, she hadn’t opened her eyes yet. Both Mom and daughter knew she must be hungry, so they prepared some milk for her. They planned on using a spoon, but it was of no use. She was too young to take it. Luckily, Mom saved one of her daughter’s baby bottles and went to retrieve it.
The bottle worked, and the puppy eagerly ate. The poor little thing clung to the bottle with her little paws. After the puppy ate, Mom had to rub her belly with warm water, mimicking a mother dog, so she could go to the bathroom. They then let the baby rest. The duo had to bottle-feed her every two hours. It was a lot of work, but neither of them minded. They knew they were saving her life!
Two weeks later, the puppy finally opened her eyes. It was a blessing! Before long, the pup was able to play and eventually get around on her own. The pooch had spent so much time with the daughter that she imprinted on her and followed her everywhere! As time went on, their bond grew even stronger, and the pair became inseparable.
The rescue was a success and the young girl had a best friend for life. Thanks to these wonderful people, a life was spared, and the dog is now flourishing with her family!
