WhatsApp will soon let you change the colour of chat bubbles.

WhatsApp is testing new features regularly but what if we tell you that soon you can change the colour of the chat bubble?

WhatsApp users will soon be able to change their default theme colour for which the tests have already started with the iOS version. Chat themes have mostly been limited to the regular mode and the dark mode, which could also be the system default theme.

But soon, the messaging app will offer different coloured themes that will also change the colour of the chat bubbles. The latest tests have been spotted in the WhatsApp iOS beta version 24.11.10.70 which is yet to roll out for public testing.

WhatsApp Chat Colour Theme: How It Works

Like we said, WhatsApp hasn’t released the feature yet but thanks to WeBetaInfo we get an idea of how the default theme colour change feature will work and where it will be available. You can head over to the settings of your WhatsApp account, where you have the Chat option. Over there, you will have to click on the Theme option after which WhatsApp will show you the default chat theme options.

The beta version suggests the messaging app will offer up to five colours for the chat and theme colours. “Upon selecting a colour, it will automatically become our default chat theme, adjusting both the wallpaper and bubble colour accordingly in the future,” the tipster mentions in the post.

The personalised aspect of the chat theme will be only applicable for your account, as the person at the other end might have chosen another colour. We could soon have this feature rolled out for iPhone users, but the Android version might get an update at a later date.

It is interesting to see WhatsApp finally go beyond the signature green colour and also focus on a feature for the iOS users first before trying it out on Android. Either way, we can’t wait to see how WhatsApp plans to personalise the platform going forward.
